Richard E. Wright joined the firm as a partner in May 2013. With nearly 30 years of experience in government, politics and government relations, Rick has earned the reputation as a tenacious fighter who is respected by decision-makers throughout State government.

Beginning in January of 2004 until joining MBI, Rick served as the Executive Director of the New Jersey General Assembly Republican Office under leaders Jon Bramnick and the late Alex DeCroce. He was instrumental in assisting Leader DeCroce achieve bipartisan legislative support for Governor Christie’s historic reforms, such as a property tax cap and pension benefit reform.

Prior to becoming Executive Director, Rick served as the President of the New Jersey Food Council, an alliance of food and beverage retailers and suppliers that closely monitors legislative and regulatory issues affecting the industry.

Working in two gubernatorial administrations, Mr. Wright was a Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Donald T. DiFrancesco and earned recognition from the Governor for his work coordinating the Administration’s response to the Sept. 11 terror attacks and for helping to develop a victims’ assistance center and memorial event. Rick also served as Special Assistant to Governor Christine Todd Whitman from 1996 to 1998, and was the Political Director for her 1997 re-election campaign.

Mr. Wright also worked as an Assistant to the Chairman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey as they transitioned into a post-9/11 world.

Originally from Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, Rick lives in Moorestown, New Jersey, with his wife, Susan L. Olgiati and their two children, Alexander and Emily. Rick serves as an Assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 44 located in his hometown.

Mr. Wright is a graduate of Northeastern University with a degree in political science.
